Leah spent the next eight years in her stores, surrounded by thousands of loyal customers willing to share their opinions. Kirpalani listened and learned: what brands were doing right, where they were falling short, and what customers were quietly saying in her treatment rooms and at the registers. Again and again, one thing stood out — clients were investing in high-end, targeted skincare, yet still buying their everyday essentials at mass retailers — despite the fact that these were the products shaping the majority of their routine. And if they did splurge on essentials, they’d save it for the guest bathroom or a special occasion. She knew she had to change that.
